The OTs 9 is a rapid-fire SMG that excels at short distances.
Debuting in both Black Ops Cold War and Warzone, this weapon carries a more than decent fire rate with a moderate recoil. While the magazine size isn’t extraordinary, going for the right attachments can balance this out greatly, while also strengthening some of its already existing capabilities.
This page will cover how to unlock the OTs 9 in the quickest way possible, and the best OTs 9 loadout and OTs 9 class recommendations to make the most of it.

How to unlock the OTs 9 in Warzone
The OTs 9 can be unlocked either by completing an in-game challenge or by purchasing blueprints in the shop.
The weapon has two different challenges, depending on whether you’re opting to unlock it on Black Ops Cold War or Warzone, listed below:
- How to unlock the OTs 9 in Warzone: Kill 2 or more players rapidly in 15 different completed matches, using any SMG
- How to unlock the OTs 9 in Black Ops Cold War: Kill three enemies affected by your Tactical Equipment in 15 different completed matches, using any SMG
Neither of these tasks are particularly challenging, but they can be rather time-consuming due to the amount of matches required.
If you’re opting for Warzone, this should be rather straightforward. We recommend opting for modes like Plunder, which will allow you to revive throughout the match so you can make the most out of each session.
With Black Ops Cold War, modes such as Nukejacked 24/7 and Rush 24/7, as well as team deathmatch playlists are the way to go. Tactical Equipment such as stun grenades can do the job just fine, and if anything, you can focus on just one enemy at a time and repeat it throughout each match. It will take a significant amount of time still, but not as long compared to longer modes.
Best Warzone OTs 9 loadout and attachments
Here’s our best attachments that you should be bolting on to the OTs 9 when you’re dropping into Verdansk.
- Muzzle: GRU Suppressor (Unlocks at level 46)
- Barrel: 8.1″ Task Force (Unlocks at level 48)
- Underbarrel: Spetsnaz Grip (Unlocks at level 41)
- Rear Grip: Serpent Wrap (Unlocks at level 28)
- Ammunition: Spetsnaz 40 Rnd
First, you’ll want to equip the GRU Suppressor for the muzzle. This has been the go-to for many builds for a while now, and for good reason, as it improves vertical recoil control as well as increasing both bullet velocity and damage range – in addition to sound suppression, of course. It comes with an impact to aim down sight speed and the overall aiming stability, but not by a ton.
Onto the barrel. The 8.1″ Task Force is by far the best option here, further increasing the bonuses to damage range and bullet velocity from the muzzle, as well as improving strafe speed. It impacts both horizontal and recoil control as a result, but don’t fret, as we’re targeting that in the next attachment.

For the underbarrel, you can’t go wrong with the Spetsnaz Grip, which improves both vertical and horizontal recoil control. As a trade-off, both regular and ADS firing move speeds will be affected slightly.
As for the rear grip slot, we went for the Serpent Wrap for that extra ADS time. Your sprint to fire time will be reduced as a result, but not by much.
Lastly, you can’t go wrong with the Spetsnaz 40 Rnd. One of the biggest flaws of this SMG is the magazine size, so having this attachment is a must.

Best Warzone KOTs 9 class setup, perks and equipment
As for the best class items, such as equipment and Perks, that you should use to get the most out of the OTs 9.
- Perk 1: Quick Fix (Unlocks at level 42)
- Perk 2: Overkill (Unlocks at level 38)
- Perk 3: Amped (Unlocks at level 1)
- Secondary: Swiss K31 (Unlocks by getting 2 Headshot kills in 15 different completed matches using any sniper rifle)
- Tactical: Stun Grenade (Unlocks at level 1)
- Lethal: Frag Grenade (Unlocks at level 1)
With this OTs 9 build it won’t take you long to start taking down enemies, which is why beginning health regeneration immediately after each battle with Quick Fix makes for a great combo. If level 42 sounds a bit steep, we recommend opting for E.O.D., as it will help to mitigate damage from non-killstreak explosives and fire until you can unlock this perk.

As per usual we recommend opting for Overkill as the second perk. As for our weapon of choice, the Swiss K31 is the perfect pair. This sniper rifle is fast and can deal damage at great distances in just a few seconds.
If a target manages to sneak past your sniper, don’t fret, as Amped will increase the speed of the action.
Rounding out the equipment, we’re going for rather traditional choices here, with a Stun Grenade and Frag Grenade for each. The SMG isn’t exactly suited for long distances, so throwing explosives or stunning enemies before you storm in with an attack is a strategy you should consider.
